In fact the beach is a narrow strip of sand, some 100 meters long, but it is fully organized and receives many visitors. The swimmers will find here facilities for swimming and sunbathing (umbrellas and sun beds) and a bar and a restaurant in an overgrown place. Those who like sports will find several alternatives at the beach; there are fields for football and grounds for tennis and volley at the beach which often host various athletic events. There is also a sea sport training center, offering elementary and advanced courses and equipment; this beach receives also the champions in several sports. Due to the facilities and organization, several visitors characterize this beach as the “small Mykonos”, not without a bit of exaggeration, of course. As a result in summer, both in the weekdays and in the weekends the beach gets is “packed” with people who either stay around or come here for just a dive. |

In case of health problems you may address to the pharmacies or to the Local Medical Center of Nea Makri, some 8 kilometer southern to the beach. Access to the beach is easy by the intercity public buses (KTEL) running regularly, as well as by private means (car and motorbikes). Parking close to the beach is slightly difficult especially during the weekends and in August, despite the large parking available at the beach. From Athens you will arrive to the beach via the road leading to Marathonas. |
