The long, sandy, well organized beach along the coastal Poseidonos Avenue at Alimos, is situated at a distance of some 8 kilometers southeastern to the center of Athens; it is the closest beach to the city center. It is a municipal beach, free of charge during the weekdays. |

Accommodation facilities, food and drink, entertainment and amusement, shopping and various every day provisions are fully available, as the beach is found within the urban tissue of the broader area of the capital city, part of which is also Alimos. Thus, you have plenty of choices for any activity, any taste and any budget. You will also find many alternatives for parking of your vehicle, as well as night life, coffee bars and stores in close distance from the beach. The beach is fully organized with facilities for swimming and sunbathing (umbrellas, sun beds, showers). |

For any problem you may address to the appropriate service of the area around. In close distance you will find a Police and a Traffic Police station, as well as several services of the public or private sector. Access to the beach is easy by public buses, running frequently, by taxi and by private means (car or motorbikes). The best way to arrive to the beach is certainly the tramway; it is easy, comfortable and above all environment-friendly. If you come by car, you will not have problems, unless in the weekends. As the place is pretty flat, it is also suitable for walking and cycling. Finally, if you reach the beach by boat or yacht, you may berth at the neighboring marinas, where you may also get all supplies necessary for your vessel. |
